She has worked with clients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds but her areas of interest are working with immigrants and marginalized, underserved groups/BIPOC.
Sharon believes every individual is different with a unique set of circumstances therefore her therapeutic approach is always tailored to each client’s needs, personality and developmental level. Treatment approaches Sharon uses are eclectic and tailored to the unique individual and they include: trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), CBT, motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioral therapy.
Sharon has experience with a wide range of areas of concern including immigrant issues, trauma, foster care and adoption, domestic violence, self-esteem, life transitions, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. Whenever necessary, Sharon will always make referrals and/or collaborate with medical and psychiatric providers for further evaluation and treatment.
